Our skin-care routine in winters

We are back with another post... And it is about skin care! 

Since winters have started and with that, will start skin's problems - dryness, which if not taken care of can lead to major problems like fine lines, wrinkles, and appearance of dry scaly patches

In winters, dry air takes away the thin layer of oil that traps moisture in the skin leading to flaring, itchy and painful conditions for the skin.

Anyway, so today in this post, I will mention few steps that I follow to take care of my skin (even in summers!). I also started taking these steps, as my skin has recently been facing a lot acne problems - especially on the forehead which can be due to dandruff or any cosmetic product I used. 

And these steps that I am talking about are used and tested by me... So, relax and do not hesitate to try the below mentioned methods:

1. So, first and foremost, I STOPPED using soaps and facewashes! I know you would be going like 'whattttttt' but yeah, that's true I have stopped washing my skin with all these harsh cosmetics. And, instead, I use a mix of below mentioned few powders - 
  1. Besan (Gram Flour)
  2. Sandalwood powder
  3. Cinnamon powder
  4. Powdered Oatmeal
  5. Multani Mitti (Fuller's Clay)
  6. Orange Peel Powder
Just mix all these powders and keep them in an airtight jar. All you have to do is take a spoon of it in your palm, pour few drops of water, mix it well and apply it on your skin. Let it settle down for 2 minutes and then, wash it off. Its that simple!

2. I have also stopped using all kind of creams and serums on my skin! All I use is a mix of neem water and rose water. 

3. At night, before sleeping, I apply Aloe Vera gel all over my face, neck and hands

4. For eyes, I use either Castor oil or coconut oil. Just take few drops of any of these oils on your fingertips and massage your eyes gently. Leave it overnight for better results.

5. I, at times also use raw milk on my skin. You can use cotton for the same. 

6. I never used to use any makeup though. But recently, gave up the BB creams that I used to use once in a while. So, now when I got out, all I use is a bit of moisturizer from The Bodyshop, Kajal, eyeliner, and lipstick.

7. Sunscreen is the only thing I am still using. I can't live without it. Make sure, you wear sunscreen everytime you step out in the sun!

8. Eat right! Make sure, you eat at least 2 fruits in a day and lots of green. I every day, either take vegetable juice or soup.

9. I start my day with half apple, a mug full of green tea with lemon and honey and 4 glasses of water

10. Exercise... Anything - Run, Walk, Dance, do Yoga - just for 15 minutes a day!

So, these are few things that I have added/ changed in my lifestyle. Its just been 2 weeks I have started them and I am loving it. Do try them and do let us know your feedback. 


P.S: Be patient. These methods will be curing your body and skin from inside and this process may take time - sometimes, 2-3 months for visible results.
